There’s much more to the festival than just the artisan market stalls. Enjoy some fiery BBQ demos and insider tips at Big Nath’s Fire Stage. Explore current food-related issues, with talks by Tessa Munt, MP, and Charlie Bigham. Or try some quality English wines and talk to the vineyard owners. Younger visitors will have plenty to keep them busy, with the Children’s Zone, Little Joe’s Kitchen cookery workshops and the Children’s Trail. Plus, our headline sponsor, Charlie Bigham’s, will have a stand, and there will be music around the site to entertain you.
The festival stretches from the High Street, Market Place and Town Hall, through to Cathedral Green and Palace Green, along Moat Walk and into the Recreation Ground.
Little Joe’s Kitchen

Join one of our fun children’s cookery workshops with Simon Gray from Little Joe’s Kitchen in the Recreation Ground. Young chefs in the making can get hands-on, chopping and preparing a variety of colourful fresh vegetables to create their own healthy and delicious Oodles of Noodles dish. The workshops are free and are always extremely popular, so be sure to sign up for a slot early on the day.
Big Nath’s Fire Stage

BBQ demonstrations from Nathan Ritchie in the Recreation Ground. Nathan will be turning up the heat with three live sessions as he cooks up a mouth-watering menu using ingredients from some of our local artisan traders. Fiery demos, insider tips on smoking and grilling, and plenty of lively BBQ chat, plus Big Nath’s BBQ shop stocked with everything you need to take your BBQ to the next level.

Local organisations explore important topics including food waste, food security, food poverty, mental health and sustainable food systems. New for 2026 are our Table Talks, a series of short presentations and Q&A sessions throughout the day. Plus a talk on food security at 11am from Tessa Munt, MP for Wells and Mendip Hills, and a special Q&A at 11.30 with our headline sponsor, Charlie Bigham.
English Wine
In the English Wine marquee on Palace Green, local and regional vineyards will be showing off their wines to taste and buy. Meet vineyard owners, try some exceptional English wines and enjoy a glass with friends.
Children’s Zone
Plenty of interactive fun for our younger visitors, plus some kiddie sized street food. Join in with some food-based crafts and sensory play, and discover all the reasons why pumpkins are not just for Halloween.
Children’s Trail
For a fun way to see the festival, follow our trail for young food detectives and help solve a tasty mystery. Collect your trail map from various locations across the site and complete the clues to win a small prize.
Town Hall
The Town Hall will host a carefully curated collection of beautiful kitchenware, homeware and foodie gifts. Whether you’re looking to find the perfect present or discover something unique for your home, you’ll find an inspiring range of quality products.
Charlie Bigham’s
Our headline sponsor Charlie Bigham’s will have a dedicated area in their usual spot on Palace Green. They will be selling a range of their popular dishes and will also have some fun and games for visitors to enjoy.
Entertainment
Local singer songwriter Sam Evans will be on Swan Green, and Josh Blake, The Voice Kids 2025 finalist on Cathedral Green, along with Captain Crusty and the Pickled Herrings in the Market Place. Plus music from Wells Cathedral School pupils on the bandstand.
Cathedral Green
Cathedral Green will host a vibrant mix of artisan and street food stalls, with both familiar favourites and new additions. There will also be a bar and seating area, plus live music from The Voice Kids 2025 finalist, Josh Blake.
Swan Green
A relaxed space on Palace Green where you can gather with friends and family and soak up the festival atmosphere. There will be plenty of food and drink on offer, plus live music throughout the day from Sam Evans.
Artisan Market
Sample the culinary delights from over 200 local artisan producers, selling a wide variety of food and drinks, street food and homewares. There will be some interesting new traders, as well as many of the festival’s regulars.
